Combining computing and crafting, this workshop is all about making your own piece of wearable tech using a range of creative skills including simple programming.

CodeBug is a cute, programmable and wearable device designed to introduce simple programming and electronic concepts to anyone, at any age. CodeBug can display graphics and text, has touch sensitive inputs and you can power it with a watch battery. At home, it is easy to program CodeBug using an online interface, which features colourful drag and drop blocks, an in-browser emulator and engaging community features.
At this workshop families will learn how to program the tiny CodeBug computer so it scrolls their chosen messages and animations. They will then design a cover for their CodeBug to turn it into an animated badge.

Primary School Shows and Workshops

We would usually expect one member of Science Oxford staff to be able to provide three activities in a day. Most of our shows are suitable for up to 60 children and most of our workshops for up to 30 children. We will create a draft timetable for you based on the information you provide below.
