Wacky Racing Workshop
Who wouldn’t want to be a racing driver or pit engineer? Well your children can start their F1 career right here when they design and build a model car to test on our track. In this fun, hands-on engineering challenge from Science Oxford, they’ll learn about environmentally- friendly power sources, design their own racing car and then bring it to life using the K’nex building system. The Science Oxford team will be on hand to guide activities in the workshop, help with any engineering problems and test the cars.
Competition!
There’s also the chance to win a free family pass to one of our upcoming events by getting your budding engineers to tweet or Instagram photos of their Wacky Racers to @scienceoxford – our favourite design will get the prize!
The workshop is part of ‘Test Drive The Future‘, a free, family-friendly day at Cherwell School celebrating sustainable engineering and technology 11AM – 4M.
Test drive a range of electric and hydrogen cars, expert talks on vehicle technology, fun science and craft activities for all the family, meet Robert Llewellyn (from Red Dwarf and Scrapheap Challenge, plus a BBQ and other refreshments – part of Oxford Green Week and Oxfordshire Science Festival.
