Our July Maker Club is the official Oxford workshop for Global Game Jam Next. Young Gamers aged 12 – 17 can join in with an international day of game creation, based around a theme that will be revealed on the day!

Whether it’s a video game, board game, card game or any other game you’re into, come along, hang out with other 12-17 year olds, swap ideas and come up with new ones. Click into design mode, sketch out how your game might work, prototype and playtest your ideas. Who knows what innovative games Maker Club members will create in a day – Game On!

Game Jams are very similar to hackathons and these type of events are best when participated in fully, so do try and come along for 10am if you can. If you can’t make it for the start, no worries as we are open until 4pm.

THINGS TO REMEMBER

If you are planning to build a video game, you must bring along a laptop, as we only have a limited number available.

A tuck shop is available for drinks and snacks, but if you are planning on spending the day with us bring your own lunch.

If price to this event is a barrier, please get in touch as we have a small number of funded places available. Email [email protected].

Find out more about Maker Club here.

All sessions are unaccompanied, please ensure you have filled out a Parental Permission Form available here or at the club.

Science Oxford welcomes everyone to our clubs. If you have additional needs, please get in touch on [email protected] to discuss how we can best support you to make the most of the club.
