Volunteering Day

Come along to Stansfeld Park in Headington, Oxford and join in with our woodland clearing project.

We’ve teamed up with Oxford Conservation Volunteers (OCV) to run some woodland clearing days at Stansfeld Park in Headington Quarry – the site which will be home to our new innovation and science education centre in 2018. Currently the 15-acre woodland on the site is very overgrown, with brambles blocking footpaths and ponds hidden behind and beneath overgrowth. We want to restore the woods ready for schools and the local community to enjoy once Stansfeld Park is open for business.

We’ll be mowing and raking the grassland areas of the site and cutting back extensive areas of scrub. There’s a good chance that today will see the first bonfire of the season! More details about the day can be found here: and information about the site here.

We are planning more clear-up days, so if you can’t make this one keep a look out for details of the next OCV event.
