From Quantum physics-inspired ballerinas to FameLab #winning musical maths teachers, if you’re curious about ‘science communication’, Pi-rformance, cosmic comedy or space age stand-up, why not pop along to our next SciComm Meet Up at the Jam Factory. Dip your toe in, or jump in head first!

Tonight’s theme – Philosophy and Science

What is the purpose of science? Why do we do it, and does it still exist when we’re not looking? From the morality to the method, the subject which started life under the title of “natural philosophy” has developed into the science we know today, but how different are philosophy and science now?

If you’re passionate about science, philosophy or science communication, join us for our philosophy and science SciComm social at The Jam Factory, Hollybush Row, Oxford, OX1 1HU.

At 7:30pm, Philosophy in Pubs will be holding an artificial intelligence themed discussion evening at the same venue so feel free to stay on and join in the conversation.

Find out what’s going on in the area, socialise and network over a drink.

We encourage everybody interested in Science Communication to get together at this event to share ideas and network. Science Oxford delivers a vibrant programme of science communication, performance and public engagement from FameLab to ‘SO Talented’ Science Cabaret and Sci-Comm socials. You can also find out more about Philosophy in Pubs and the SO Talented network of science performers.
