Using an engineering context is a fantastic way to make problem solving in maths and science more relevant to pupils and to develop inspirational and challenging design and technology projects. From gliders and vacuum cleaners to mechanical toys and floating platforms, you will be amazed by what you (and your pupils!) are able to achieve.

Course Outcomes
  • How to use engineering to promote problem solving, teamwork and communication skills in pupils
  • Introduction to the engineer design process
  • Practical ideas for implementation in the classroom

We would usually expect one member of Science Oxford staff to be able to provide three activities in a day. Most of our shows are suitable for up to 60 children and most of our workshops for up to 30 children. We will create a draft timetable for you based on the information you provide below.
