Conservation Project Spring Clean
The snow is gone and spring has arrived, so grab your gardening gloves, don your wellies and head to Stansfeld Park for our ‘spring clean’ conservation day! Run in partnership with the amazing Oxford Conservation Volunteers, we’re working to rejuvenate the 15 acres of woodland, ponds and grassland at Stansfeld and create a fantastic urban wildspace for future primary school visitors and the local community to enjoy.
The recent snow has created a lot of extra work in addition to our normal spring tasks and we would love for you to come and help us tidy up! Fallen trees block many of the paths and clearings are choked with scrub. We’ll be cutting back, creating habitat piles and raking vegetation alongside a roaring fire while keeping energy levels up with hot drinks and biscuits.
Join us onsite at 9:45am for a 10am start, finishing up around 4pm but please free to attend for as long as you can spare.
We welcome accompanied children aged 5 and over to our spring cleaning day, to help with the more lightweight clearing jobs. Please contact us if you have any queries. Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for their safety. You can email [email protected] or call 01865 810012.
