Get Coding! micro:bit CPD

CPD
Duration: Twilight – 1.5 hours
Suitable For: Teaching staff, ECTs, TAs, computing leads

Does your school have a set of micro:bits but you’re unsure how to start using them? Or perhaps you’re interested in borrowing our micro:bit kit loan, with a class set of micro:bits and a term’s worth of lesson plans?

In this fun, hands-on twilight CPD session, you will gain an understanding of micro:bit programming, practice some coding yourself, and have plenty of opportunities to ask any questions that you may have.

Course outcomes
  • Familiarisation with the basics of micro:bit programming using both the JavaScript block editor and Python
  • Introduction to our micro:bit lesson plans
  • Knowledge and confidence to run micro:bit lessons or after-school clubs

We’ll also introduce our set of 6 exciting lesson plans and give you plenty of opportunities to ask any questions that you may have.

Get Coding! is accessible to all, from complete beginners to those with a working knowledge of programming. However, it is best suited to KS2 class teachers, TAs and ECTs as well as SLT and computing curriculum leaders.

This CPD can be run at your school free of charge by joining our membership scheme, which entitles schools to one free CPD session per year. Find out more about our Schools Membership scheme here.
