Join us for a very special event as we open the doors of our amazing new Science Oxford Centre to families for the first time. The Science Oxford Centre is a place of investigation and discovery – an exciting space where children can create their own experiments and make their own discoveries. And as this is a special launch event, we’ve also got a fantastic live show from spacetrotter and TV broadcaster Simon Watt.

Take a tour of the Exploration Zone, where each of the twenty hands-on exhibits has been designed to give children the freedom to explore, think and see the world differently. Watch water freeze, shoot scarves, check your ‘glow’ with our thermal camera and build your own marble maze.
Head outside to our 15-acre woodland for a walk. Comprising ponds, pathways and the odd fox, deer or badger, this previously private woodland is a real secret treasure of Oxford and a must-see during your visit. Plus there’s a tap to rinse-off muddy wellies too.
In the workshop space, there will be more hands-on challenges with our maths carousel – a range of puzzles for all the family that will have you thinking like a Sudoku champion.
To complete this inaugural family opening, tickets include entry to Look Up, a space-themed family show with biologist and TV presenter Simon Watt in our new theatre.

Find out how crisps can help make a telescope and how to make your own fizzy rockets. Spacetrotter Simon Watt will be your guide to what you can see if you only look up!
