Family Open Day (6th July)
If you come down to the woods today, the Science Oxford Centre will be opening its doors. Delve into our centre, a place for investigation and creativity – an exciting space where children can design their own experiments and make their own discoveries. Families of adventurers can tour our Exploration Zone, and see the world differently through our hands-on exhibits. Try out scarf-shooting and marble run building, create flying objects that hover over our air table, and watch water freeze before your eyes!
Outside in our 15-acre woodland, families can follow our trails and explore this beautiful outdoor setting. Perhaps beady-eyed detectives will even pick up some signs of wildlife in the woods: nuts nibbled by mice, fox footprints or deer couches – or hear the calls of some of our local birds.
Ticket includes Exploration Zone and access to woodland.
Families can bring their own picnic to eat in our outdoor under-cover seating area by the cafe, as we ask visitors not to picnic in the woodand as it is a protected area.
