Online Creative Computing Club – Game On (Ages 9-12) 13 February
We’re celebrating International Day of Women & Girls in Science at February’s online Creative Computing Club as young coders create their very own game using Microsoft MakeCode Arcade. Your super-scientist Avatar will invent a machine to flip pancakes that burst into beating hearts when she tries to eat them, to mark Valentine’s Day and Pancake day as well. We’re Game On for 2021 – join in from home!
Booking closes 5PM on Thursday 11th February
International Day of Women and Girls in Science is a global celebration of the Women who work and contribute to major scientific findings.
Due to current government restrictions, this event will take place online via video call.
Please read through the information sheet before booking a ticket for your child here.
What you will need:
You will need an internet connected device to take part in the session. We recommend a laptop, but activities should be possible to complete using a tablet – please get in touch if you want to discuss the requirements.
An appropriate adult must always be nearby during the day and will be responsible for monitoring your child’s online activity. As always, we encourage you to work with your child on their project.
For more details please visit Science Oxford Centre visitor information.

Science Oxford welcomes all children to our clubs. If you or your child has additional needs, please get in touch to discuss how we can best support your child to make the most of the club.
Science Oxford is committed to inclusion and we recognise that cost is sometimes a barrier. Funded places for eligible families are now available, thanks to the Austin and Hope Pilkington Trust. Families could be eligible for these places for several reasons; for example, if your child receives free school meals or is a looked-after child. To find out more and to book one of these places, please contact [email protected]
