Join Space scientist and The Sky at Night presenter Maggie Aderin-Pocock for an interactive Tour of Space at the Sheldonian Theatre, introduced by Science Oxford’s Bridget Holligan for the Oxford Literary Festival.
‘Dr Maggie’s Grand Tour of the Solar System’ is an epic journey of discovery. Visit the most magnificent sights and spectacles outer space has to offer, from planets and moons, to asteroids, comets and satellites – all in the unique setting of the Sheldonian, designed by one of England’s greatest architects, Sir Christopher Wren. The BBC presenter is passionate about inspiring young people to pursue careers in science. She has also appeared in Stargazing Live and Doctor Who Confidential.
Bridget Holligan is the Director of Education and Engagement for Science Oxford. Bridget began her career at The Exploratory science centre in Bristol as the presenter of live chemistry shows such as ‘Flash Bang Wallop!’ and ‘Bubble Magic’. After 25 years at Science Oxford, in 2020 Bridget was awarded the Beetlestone Award for her vision and leadership in recognition of the Science Oxford Centre and ‘Thinking, Doing, Talking Science’ – a national programme for primary science.
