Egg-citing times with Science Oxford

Thursday 6th April 2017

Science Oxford will be running a series of fabulously fun family shows and workshops across Oxfordshire this Easter. We’ll be heading to Witney with a culinary inspired ‘Kitchen Science’ workshop at Cogges Manor Farm and warming up for spring with ‘London’s Burning’ at Cokethorpe School, plus an Egg-Citing Easter Challenge at the Old Museum, Oxford.

London’s Burning 7th April, Cokethorpe School, Witney
London’s Burning show tours to The Shed theatre space at Cokethorpe School near Witney on 7th April. An immersive storytelling experience for over 10s, set your imagination alight with our entertaining insight into the secrets of the Great Fire with live fire demonstrations that explore the science of heat, flame and combustion. The show has previously appeared at the North Wall Arts Centre, Oxford and Chipping Norton Theatre. Audience members said:

“We loved the combination of narrative and practical demonstration – drama and science.”

“My son stopped fidgeting and actually watched.”

“It was just brilliant.”

We can’t wait to come back to the Museum of Oxford, this time with our Egg-citing Easter Challenge on 10th April, an egg and engineering themed workshop for ages 7-11s! The idea is to build a special crash test car that can transport a precious egg safely.Children can take their cars and a chocolate treat home!

Kitchen Science, 19th April, Cogges Manor Farm

Science Oxford goes to the farm! We’re exited to be taking our Kitchen Science workshop to Cogges Manor Farm for the very first time with a kitchen cupboard-inspired session on 19th April. Children will get their taste-buds tingling with our Roald Dahl-inspired lickable wallpaper, create ‘snozzcumbers’ with basil-seed slime and cool things down by making their very own ice-cream, without the need for a freezer!
Science Oxford will be running two workshops (ages 5+), at 10.30am, 12pm and 2.30pm. Cost is included with entry but places are limited so please book in advance. You can also visit the farm, a great day out for the whole family.
