Things are looking up in The Basement

Thursday 10th December 2015

Last night The Oxford Trust opened up the doors of its new The Basement project – an underground creative and learning space in the Oxford Centre for Innovation on New Road. The Basement is home to Oxford Hackspace – a community makerspace with specialist prototyping facilities – and the Science Oxford Discovery Zone, which is a bespoke learning space for budding young scientists and the location of Science Oxford’s popular Saturday Science Clubs.

Despite the lure of Christmas shopping and festive work parties, a good crowd of our local partners, scientists, engineers and makers gathered to explore the new facilities, which include a large workroom, state-of-the-art laser cutter (see below) and the latest 3D printers.
