Science Oxford Bright Ideas

At Science Oxford, we’re keen to get children thinking and talking about science. We know it really helps to develop their skills and understanding as well as supporting learning and developing interests. Our evidence-based Thinking, Talking, Doing Science programme developed with Oxford Brookes University encourages teachers to have a dedicated discussion slot in every science lesson – we call it Bright Ideas Time, and we’ve developed a number of simple prompts to get the discussion started. They are a great resource for children and families to use at home too! Activities include Odd One Out, Practical Prompts for Thinking, The Big Question, and Positive, Minus, Interesting. Get thinking and talking together about science using our ideas below.
