Free summer science clubs for children (2016)

Thursday 14th July 2016

If you live in the Leys, Rose Hill, Barton, Wood Farm, Littlemore, Northway, Cutteslowe, East Oxford and Cowley your children could enjoy this week of cool scientific activities for local families!

There are different activities every day and all are free, so booking in advance is essential.

The clubs will run from Monday to Friday, at East Oxford Primary School from 25th-29th July 2016 and Rose Hill Community Centre from 8th-12th August 2016.

The camp is free to attend for 8-12 year olds who live in the Leys, Rose Hill, Barton, Wood Farm, Littlemore, Northway, Cutteslowe, East Oxford and Cowley. Each day will start at 9.30am and end at 4pm, with different activities taking place each day.

At the end of the week, there will be a celebration of the children’s achievement over the week. All families are invited to this celebration, which will begin at 3pm on the Friday afternoon.

To book please get in touch with [email protected] for more details.

General Information

You will be asked to sign in your child when you drop them off in the morning. We will also need a contact number for you, in case of emergency, or if your child needs to be collected early for any reason. All Science Oxford staff are fully DBS checked and trained in safeguarding.

Children will need clothes that can get messy and a packed lunch every day. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Additionally, in cold weather, they will need a warm, waterproof coat and wellies or outdoor shoes. In warm weather, the children will need sunscreen and may wish to bring sunglasses and sun hats.

They will also need a bag to keep their belongings together and to take home anything that they have made that day. Please ensure that all items are named.

Science Oxford is committed to inclusion and no child will be excluded from activities due to disability, allergies or other issues. It is helpful if we know any issues that your child may have in advance, so that we can make appropriate provision for them. Please contact Sophie on 01865 810000 or [email protected] to discuss this.

For more information, if you have any questions or to book a place for your child, please contact Sophie on 01865 810000 or [email protected].

Younger siblings can be considered for a place if accompanied by a sibling aged 8-12.

Places are limited to 30 each day, with priority for places going to residents of that area.
