Creative Computing Club – Moonbuggies (Ages 9-12)
As NASA’s robotic spacecraft explorers await ‘Artemis’ astronauts to join them on the moon, we’ll be programming Python and a BBC micro:bit to communicate with model moon-buggies across space! At this month’s Creative Computing Club, there’ll be plenty of lunar challenges to face – including guiding the buggies to pick up ‘moon rock’ samples using a servo-controlled grabbing claw. There’s also the time delay between Earth and the moon to grapple with – 1.255 seconds can be a long time when you’re trying to navigate an already rocky mission!
All Creative Computing Club sessions must be accompanied by an adult (adult entrance free).

Experiment with floating and sinking, adjust the water flow from a trickling stream to a raging current or test your own ideas with other interchangeable accessories. We advise bringing a change of dry clothes in case you get wet. Children must be supervised by their adult at all times.
