Demolition Day at Stansfeld Park

Thursday 12th October 2017

After fifty years, the Stansfeld Outdoor Education Centre in Headington Quarry – once a destination for Birmingham schools’ residential trips – is no more. The last of the dilapidated buildings on this secluded site in East Oxford was demolished today, to make way for our exciting new Stansfeld Park development. Stansfeld Park, which is due for completion in early 2019, will include the brand new Wood Centre for Innovation and Science Oxford education centre.

We will also be rejuvenating 15 acres of woodland, ponds and grassland on the site to create a beautiful urban wildspace for visitors and the local community.

Read more about the project here and watch our virtual tour of how Stansfeld Park will look when its finished here.

You can watch the development of the site LIVE on our webcam here plus see footage of our badgers set and other ‘wild’ residents.
