Woodland conservation

We are proud to be custodians of the 15 acres of green space and of woodland around the Science Oxford Centre and we aim to conserve, strengthen and improve its biodiversity.

We can’t do this alone and we are grateful to all the volunteers who have given their time to help rejuvenate and conserve our woodland and outdoor spaces around the Science Oxford Centre.

Science Oxford Volunteers

Volunteers with an interest in woodland or conservation are valuable in supporting Science Oxford Centre staff to maintain the pathways, plant trees and flowers, mow the lawn, hang bird feeders and develop outdoor activities for our 15 acres of woodland and ponds.

Volunteers join us one Monday morning each month (4 hours) and occasional Sundays each year with Oxford Conservation Volunteers.

Volunteers have helped to establish the outdoor space at the  Science Oxford Centre since The Oxford Trust started developing the site

Oxford Conservation Volunteers

Oxford Conservation Volunteers, along with our own volunteers, were instrumental in helping to rejuvenate the 15 acres of woodland, constructing and landscaping ponds and grassland surrounding the Science Oxford Centre, since The Oxford Trust started the development of the site, to create the fantastic urban wildspace for primary school visitors and families to enjoy today. They continue to help us with big tasks.
