Summer of Science – hands-on family fun with Science Oxford
Thursday 7th July 2022
Summer is here and we’re looking forward to a jam-packed programme of hands-on science! Our popular Summer Science Camps are back at the Science Oxford Centre during the holidays, for children age 6-9 (August 15-19) and 9-12 (August 22-26). Our week long camps run from 9am – 3.30pm and are designed by our skilled staff for children who love science and want to discover more. Children gain confidence and learn about science in a unique, practical, and interesting way. Limited tickets only; a waiting list will be available for sold out camps through our website.
Our Centre is open every Saturday for Summer Family Days, with 2 hours in the Exploration Zone and all day to enjoy 15 acres of woodland, outdoor Water Lab and picnic areas. Pick up an Explorer Backpack with binoculars, compass, bug pot and mini-whiteboard (thanks to the brilliant Operation Earth project) and look out for wildlife with our trail maps. You can also have a go at science-themed activities at our Live Lab!
We’re taking pop up science fun out on the road to Oxfordshire Play Association Play Days at Bicester Elmsbrook (26th July), Peoples Park, Banbury (27th July) and Berinsfield (2nd August). Times are 11am-3pm, entry is free. Experiment with Oobleck, bubbles, puzzles and hoop flyers, something for everyone to join in with!
Finally, we’re very excited to bring our fun family Creature Creations workshop to the Museum of Oxford. Invent your own creature with superpower survival skills! Fab sessions for ages 5-10 on 4 August.
We hope to see you soon!
