Science Oxford Centre – Special Family Launch Day and Live Show
Thursday 4th April 2019
Celebrate the late May half term with a preview of the beautiful new Science Oxford Centre, which will be fully open from September this year. We’re offering you the chance to come and take an ‘early-doors’ look on Friday 31st May.
The centre, targeted at ages 3-11, is all about investigation, discovery, and seeing the world differently. For our Family Open Day, children will be able to play with hands-on exhibits in the Exploration Zone, try out some cool maths puzzles and take a welly walk around our woodland. Also included in the entry fee is a space-themed family show, ‘Look Up’ – with biologist/TV presenter Simon Watt for ages 6+. Have you ever wondered which planet would float in a swimming pool? And just how much space really is in space? Find out how crisps can help make a telescope and how to make your own fizzy rockets as Spacetrotter Simon explains what you can see if you only look up!
Spaces are limited so book your tickets now, and be one of the first people through the revolving door of Oxford’s exciting new science centre! (Check out our website for selected public opening times soon.)
Simon Watt will later be joined later in the evening (7PM) by science troubadour Johnny Berliner for UniverSilly Challenged, a pub quiz style game show for grown-ups – book here.
