Secondary School Programme

Science Oxford’s STEM Careers Programme is designed to create opportunities for secondary school students to gain insight into STEM careers, and enhance their knowledge and skills to support their journey into a STEM career.

We aim to inspire and engage students with an early opportunity to improve their knowledge and understanding of STEM, engage with local employers and develop work-related skills. Through our STEM Careers Days and Skills Workshops, Insight Weeks, STEM Summer Experiences and Work Experience Placements, students can gain insight into various STEM careers.

We also celebrate and champion students’ hard work, commitment and enthusiasm in science at our Young Scientists of the Year Awards.

To keep up-to-date with all of the activities we offer for secondary schools, please sign up to our newsletter here.

Young Scientists of the Year

We believe that hard work, commitment and achievement in science should be recognised. That’s why we run the Young Scientists of the Year celebration, which honours some of our most outstanding Year 13 science students in secondary schools across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

I really enjoyed seeing companies come in and speak about STEM. It was also extremely nice to have the opportunity to ask questions and see what goes on behind the scenes…I enjoyed the freedom of the research and the support that we were given for the research. Thank you so much for the experience.
