Science Oxford presents Starry Night – Family Stargazing and Planetarium show. Join us for a captivating night under the stars at the Science Oxford Centre!
Planetarium show: Are we alone in the universe? What could ‘life’ look like? How would we find it? Join us in our inflatable planetarium to explore these big questions and journey through the cosmos in the hunt for life beyond planet Earth.
Stargazing: Step outside to gaze at the night sky and look through telescopes with local astronomers from Abingdon Astronomical Society and Marcham Astronomy Group who will share their passion and knowledge as your cosmic tour guides.
Activities: We’re thrilled to welcome a special guest—Oxford’s very own Space Store! They’ll be bringing VR headsets and adding an exciting hands-on experience to explore how we can view planets beyond our solar system.
Enjoy an astro-amazing evening of stargazing, planetarium show and fun and educational astronomy-themed activities.
6pm – 9pm
- Tickets are available online only.
- General Admission + Planetarium Show: £4 per person* (Limited availability)
- General Admission Only – No Planetarium Show: £1 per person.
- Under 3s free (for this event, children under the age of three can attend free of charge and do not need a ticket but are not permitted in the planetarium)
- Advance booking is essential. All ages welcome – children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult (we suggest 1 adult to 2 children).
Activities include:
- Planetarium shows 6.15pm, 7pm, 7.45pm*
*Planetarium queue starts 10 minutes before your time-slot.
Due to the nature of the inflatable planetarium, capacity is limited to 25 people per show for safety and comfort. Booking early is recommended to avoid disappointment. - Stargazing outdoors from 6.30pm
