Program a smart-cup for hot drinks
December 9, 2023
Science Oxford Centre
Creative Computing Club
Ages 9-12
Young coders get ready for winter and learn ‘cool’ new skills at this month’s Creative Computing Club. Using BBC micro:bits, we’ll create a prototype smart-cup that lets you know when your hot chocolate is the right temperature to drink, even if you are in another room! Test the insulation properties of different materials to design the best hot-drink container, and – for very serious testing purposes only – enjoy a tasty cup of hot chocolate before home-time!
10.00AM – 11.30AM
12.30PM – 2.00PM
3.00PM – 4.30PM
Suitable for ages 9-12
£10 per club ticket (includes Eventbrite booking fee)
includes one child + accompanying adult/s

All STEM Club sessions must be accompanied by an adult. These family workshops are designed for you and your child to learn from each other and work together while trying out new things.
Get coding with expert guidance at our monthly hands-on programming club for ages 9-12. We encourage creativity and self-led learning with themed projects, and practice patience and problem-solving skills in learning to debug computer code. Beginners welcome.
